HSS Challenge 13 Anything But a Card.......

The coasters I found at the local Dollar Store. They are glass and the frame is tinted a blue tone. On inside I stamped with the Charming Set from the Holiday Mini which is still current # 116519. I used Whisper White card stock and used Chocolate Chip Ink to stamp the sentiment and over the top stamped in Gold Encore Pad. If these were going to be a gift, it would be nice to stamp several different inserts
to change out.

When I first read about the Anything But A Card...Challenge, I wanted to make some thing different. Then I thought of the 2 x 2 tiles my husband brought home from work. He installs hard surface flooring or all kinds and he is always on the look out for some thing for me to stamp. A while back, months, I read on some ones Blog about using Stampin' Up! Rub Ons on  2 x 2 tiles and using them for refrigerator magnets. Then I remembered these 2 x 2 tiles and  thought why not stamp on the tiles using Craft Inks like we have the coasters. I made several sets. This set is made using Cheep Talk stamp set, Tempting Turquoise, Lovely Lilac, and Green Galore Craft Inks. I used the heavier round magnets because the tiles are heavy.  I rinsed the tiles with warm water, let dry and stamped the images. I baked them in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. After they were cool. I sprayed 2 coats of matt spray to seal.  I let them dry for an hour and I added one coat of Clear Gloss Glaze used for tile, glass and ceramic and then the magnets.

I made this set and a set in Chocolate Chip for Pat and Elizabeth, two Post Office gals where I go to ship packages.  They are so friendlly and helpful to me, I wanted to show them how much I appreciate them. I used the Extra Postage stamp set in the Occasions Mini #114405 (w) or 118559 (C) and Itty Bitty Backgrounds. I used Mellow Moss Craft Ink. I made another  Extra Postage set for our  other mail lady but used Chocolate Chip Craft Ink.

The Occasions Mini Items will be gone on Friday April 30th. If there's anything you have your eye on, hurry to my online store and get it while you can! http://janegiggy.stampinup.net/

Viola to Go stamp set is a great theme for refrigerator magnets! I used Chocolate Chip Craft Ink and sponged lightly all over the tiles so they wouldn't look so stark and add the Vintage look.

Any of these magnets would be so much fun to add to a bridal shower gift, a house warming gift, for teachers, or make youself a set. While you are making the magnets you might as well make several sets to have on hand for those last minute little gifts we all seem to need.

I have two more sets to show you later plus an album I have decorated. I'll save those for another day.
Happy Stamping!
Jane
