Turn Christmas Lollies into Valentine Lollies

I had some Christmas Lollies left over and came across them today. So, I thought why not recycle them and turn them into Valentine Lollies.

I removed the button and card stock and ended up with the lollie made with Holly Berry designer series paper.
Using the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine, I cut out a Paper Doily in Very Vanilla card stock and attached it to the base card made from Real Red card stock. I punched out a blossom from the Mixed Bunch Punch in Silver Glimmer paper; I punched out a heart using the Red Glimmer paper and attached them both to the doily using Stampin' Dimensionals.
After stamping "be my valentine" from the P.S. I love You stamp set on Very Vanilla card stock, I punched the saying out using the Word Window punch and layered it to Sliver Glimmer paper and punched it out with the Modern Label punch.

Designer Rosette Valentine

I'm so excited about the Designer Rosette Die

It would make a wonderful extra Large Valentine or a hanging for your wall.

Here it is hanging on the wall in my studio.It looks more pink but the color is Calypso Coral.

A closer look of the center of the Rosette and the Hearts Collection. I used the stamp set Take It to Heart, 5/8" Organza Ribbon and one 8mm Large Pearl from the basic Jewels.

On the left is the Labels Collection and on the right is the Hearts Collection Framelits Die. Using these dies make card making so fast and a lot of fun.
The possibilities are endless.

This Photo shows one sheet of designer series paper from the Sweet Shop papers. Using the new Designer Rosette Die makes the process go so fast in making the 10" rosette. The die measures 6" x 13 3/4". I use 2 sheets of designer series paper for my project.

This is how the Rosette looks before putting it together. It has 2 edges; one with loops and one that is pointed. I chose the loops for my Valentine.

Here is the completed Valentine I posted yesterday. I used Cherry Clobber, Whisper White and Pretty In Pink card stock and ink, the Paper Doily, and Cherry Clobber 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon. I used the P.S. I Love You stamp set, the Perfect Pennants Die, and the new Cherry cobbler Dazzling Details on the heart.

Card Samples From Occasions Mini

I've been playing around with some of the new items from the Occasions Mini Catalog..what fun!

I used the new Paper Doily along with the Labels Collection Framelits Die, Apothecary Art stamp set, and the Rue Des Fleurs stamp set. I chose Very Vanilla card stock for the Paper and smaller Framelit, Daffodil Delight for the card and Marina Mist for the larger Framelit. To coordinate my colors, I used Marina Mist and Daffodil Stampin' Pad and a Blender Pen to color in the flowers and umbrella. After the card was completed, I used Gold Glow Smooch Spritz.

I used the new stamp set "Tea Shoppe", Top Note, the Paper Doily and the new Vanilla Emboss Powder. The emboss powder is clear and it smells wonderful. Stampin' Up! has added two more clear emboss powders; Cherry and Melon. They all smell yummy and the fragrance stays after the image is embossed. After I embossed the Whisper White card stock with clear Vanilla Emboss Powder, using a Stamping Sponge, I rubbed Elegant Eggplant ink over the entire tea cup.

For my last card, I used the Paper Doily again with a Framelit, Apothecary Art stamp set, and added an umbrella like I did on my first card. After the card was completed, I used Smooch Spritz Gold Glow on the entire card.

Cake Pops

You may have see these advertised on television. I bought a kit which includes a special pan to make the pops. These look like lolly pops but they are actually made from cake and decorated with melted candy wafers. I added an extra egg and used milk instead of water and cut the amount of milk in half. The instructions said to add a box of dry pudding to the mixture but I didn't have any on hand. The cake pops came out just great.

Sarah, our 14 year old granddaughter, came over after school today and we made 43 of these cake pops. I did the baking and Sarah did the decorating.

After the cake pops are baked and cooled, and the sucker sticks are inserted and held inside the cake by dipping the sticks in melted candy wafers, the pops need to set in a cool place for ten minutes. After they were set, Sarah dipped them in different colors of melted candy wafers and the rolled them in sprinkles and Heath toffee bits or drizzled them with contrasting melted candy coating.

After the cake pops set, we wrapped each one in plastic wrap and secured the wrap with a twister tie and used two sheets of Styrofoam to secure the pops. They are so yummy and rich tasting.

Christmas Stockings for Family Dogs

Our grown children have the cutest puppy dogs...we call them our grand children..along with our other 7 human grand children

Here are the stockings I made

Bosco is a White Lab almost 90 lbs; Stella is a yellow Lab almost 70 lbs. Bosco and Stella belong to our youngest daughter Mary, husband Brian, daughters Hannah; 12 and Olivia 10.

Cooper is a Black Cocker Spaniel and Jada is a Boxer Pit Bull Mix. Cooper belongs to our Oldest daughter Pam and her three girls; Paige; 18, Anna 16 and Sarah 14.
Jada belongs to our son Dan, wife Maria, children Rebekah 14 and Christian 11.

I made my own pattern and cut the stockings out of felt. I guessed on how the pads of the paws would look and cut those out of felt. I used a glue gun to attach the paws. I sewed the edges using 5 strands of embroidery floss. For the boy dogs made a bow tie out of felt and used a Stampin' Up! brad. The girl dogs, I used the Big Shot and Fun Flower and made them each a flower out of felt. I filled each stocking with lots of goodies for them to have on Christmas morning.

We are having our family Christmas here this afternoon. My brother owns a Pizza Restaurant and the grand children all voted for Uncle Mark's Pizza and bread sticks. Grammy is happy because it keeps me out of the kitchen. I will be able to enjoy the day.

More Bag It and Tag It ideas

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to my stamping friends!

I've been busy making last minute bags and tags for our grand children's Christmas Ornaments.

My husband and I started this tradition 18 years ago when our first grandchild, Paige Sward, was born, We give each of our 7 grandchildren a Christmas ornament each year until they turn eighteen. When they are ready to set up their own household they will have enough ornaments to decorate their tree and have a story to go along with each ornament.

This was so much fun to make. I used the Northern Frost Decorative Strip Die, and Snowflake #2 Die along with Silver Glimmer Paper, Pretty in Pink and Rich Razzleberry

card stock.

My upline, Connie Babbert posted her idea of using triangles of different colors and patterns to make a cute Christmas tree. I thought it would make a darling bag and tag. Adding the gifts at the bottom

I know Rudolph was a boy but I wanted to make a "girl" and I named her Ruby. I used the Framed, Oval, Snowflake and Stocking Accents Dies, Large Oval, 1" circle and the Owl Builder Punches. For Ruby's bow I used Whisper White 5/8"brad and Cherry Cobbler 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon. On the tag I used the Cherry Cobbler 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon and the 5/16" brad in Whisper White.

Using the same technique as the larger sack, I made this simple white lunch sack into a beautiful gift bag. I used Whisper White card stock, Holly Berry Designer Series Paper, Red Glimmer Paper, 1/8" Real Red Taffeta Ribbon, Doily Triple Layer and Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack Punch.

This Christmas stocking bag was fun to create. I used the Holiday Stocking die, Stitched Stockings punch, Whisper White, Cherry Clobber card stock, Frostwood Lodge designer series paper, and Christmas Lane Simply Scrappin' Kit.

How cute is this? Using the Top Note Die I made these cut little elf shoes for the bag. One of my fellow demonstrator came up with this idea. For the life of me I can't remember which one. If you see this idea and it's yours, please let me know so I can give you credit.
I used Red Glimmer Paper, Garden Green, Whisper White card stock, Holly Berry designer series paper, 1/8" Real Red Taffeta Ribbon, Curly Label, 1" and 1 3/8" circle punches, Top Note, and retired Go Go Boots Alphabet Dies.

Another white lunch sack transformed into a designer bag and tag. I used retired Bird with leaves and flower, Snowflake #2 Dies, Owl Builder Punch, Real Red, Wild Wasabi card stock. For the tag I used Whisper White card stock, Winter Post stamp set, Hollyberry designer series paper, Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Sticky Strip, glue and glue gun, Real Red 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon and a button from my stash.

Our granddaughter Sarah is here and we have mixed up 2 batches of White Sugar cookies and 2 batches of Gingerbread cookies...we are ready to cut them out and bake them. We hand paint the sugar cookies. When we have the cookies finished I will post all about them. The sugar cookies recipe came from my dear sweet mother, Mary Rogers who died in 2008. She worked on the recipe, so the design of the cookie cutter would show after the cookies are baked, as a new bride when she was 26 years old. Over the years it has become a family tradition to make these cookies for Christmas giving and let the children and grand children in the family help decorate them.

Bag It and Tag It Ideas

Hello Stampers!

Only 5 days left until Christmas...

Today I have some ideas for you to make decorative bags from ordinary lunch sacks for your smaller gifts...great for those last minutes gifts too!

Just a brown lunch sack, stamps, ink, ribbon and you have a finished bag with a cute little tag.

A white paper sack some Designer Series Paper, Red Glimmer Paper and a Real Red 1/8" Taffeta bow...how cute!

Another white paper sack. I cut out Santa from Letters from Santa Designer Series Paper added some snowflakes from the Northern Frost Decorative Strip Die and cut out a Santa face stamp from Letters to Santa Designer Series Paper.

Visit tomorrow and I have more decorative bags and tags for you. This time I used the bags with a handle that you can get just about any place.

The 12th Week of Christmas

Here we are...the 12th Week of Chrstmas. I've enjoyed creating for you each week. I hope you have enjoyed the tutorials as much as I have creating them for you.

This week I have more ideas for you for the Holidays. If you can't use them this year, save them for next Chistmas.

I found two glass containers I had from last Christmas and decided to use them as gift containers for candy for the paper person and mail person. Here's what I did with them.

I filled them with a variety of chocolate and peppermint candies

I Embossed the containers with White emboss power and Wild Wasabi Embossing powder. I used Versa Mark Ink to stamp the images on the containers. The tree image is from the Contempo Christmas stamp set; snowflake is from Serene Snowflakes stamp set

I thouht the Sweet Season Stamp set, Real Red, Wild Wasabi and Whisper White card stock, 1 " Circle, 1 3/4" Scallop Circle and1 1/4" Circle punch would fit just right for these containers and give them a festive look

I added a 1" circle to the inside of the lids using Multipurpose Liquid glue

I used Multipurpose Liquid glue to adhere the punch outs to the container lids

Using Whisper White, Real Red, and Wild Wasabi card stock and the Large Oval punch and the Sweet Season stamp set, I made gift tags. I secured them to the containers with White Bakers Twine.

The last step in making these cute gifts was to add Whisper White 5/8" Organza Ribbon to the snowflake container and Real Red 5/8" Satin Ribbon to the Christmas tree container

10th & 11th Weeks of the 12 Weks of Christmas

I'm a little behind due to camera troubles. I finally gave in and bought a new camera and we are off and running now.

This post I will show week 10 and 11 in the 12 Weeks of Christmas.

My sister in law Phyllis Cooper brought me the cutest tea light. I wanted to make some and share with you.

Battery Operated Tea Lights

Aren't these tea light the cutest ever??

You will be able to make your own just in time for Christmas!

You will need Real Red and Wild Wasabi card stock, 1/ 2" x 5 1/4" of Holly Berry designer series paper, Crop-a-dial, 1 3/4" Scallop Circle and Blossom Petals Builder punches, Multipurpose Liquid glue, glue and glue gun and silk flowers.

This is the large leaf of the Blossom Petals Builder Punch

Punch 5 or six holes in the center of the 1 3/4" Scallop Circle card stock. I tried using a smaller punch but th1 3/4" Scallop Punch worked the best for me.

Using the Crop-a-dial, punch a larger hole in the center of the flowers so it will slip over the plastic flame from the candle. Put a small amount of Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the center of the Scallop Circle punch out. Slip the two layers of flowers over the flame, adding a small amount of glue on each layer.

That's it!

Here it is with the battery turned on. Wouldn't a grouping of these tea light be pretty on your Christmas table?

Coloring Stampin' Up! Silver Glitter Paper

Patty Bennett, a wonderful Stampin' Up! Demonstrator shared on her blog how to color our Silver Glimmer Paper all different colors.! If you follow my blog you know how much I love the Glimmer Paper. I will show you some projects I've made using the colored Glimmer paper at the end of this post.

Start out with a sheet of Sliver Glimmer Paper

There are different ways of coloring the Glimmer Paper

1. Use Stampin' Pad or Classic Stampin' Spots and a Sponge Dauber. This works well if you are going to color a small section of paper. Above, I used More Mustard ink. Just dab away and continue adding ink until the paper is completely colored like you want it.

2. Use Stampin' Up! Aqua Painters. Just add water a drop or two of reinker on a water proof plastic lid and paint the Glimmer Paper like you were painting any other project. This method works well if you are coloring a large sheet of Glimmer Paper

3. Use a Stampin' Sponge. Wear gloves when using this method.

I dipped my sponge in a small amount of re inker and wiped it across the Glimmer Paper. This works as well if coloring a large piece of Glimmer Paper.

Aren't these colors beautiful! What fun too!

Crafting with Hannah and Olivia

Last Sunday Hannah and Olivia; two of our granddaughters came over to make some Christmas crafts

While I was making pizza for lunch the girls made Christmas trees using a Styrofoam cone and Stampin' Up! retired Organza ribbon

12 year old Hannah made her tree was made using ribbon in green, pink and cream

Olivia age 10, made her tree using green, blue and hot pink ribbon

After lunch the girls made a hanging snowman. I found the idea in a craft magazine. I made one ahead of time using Stampin' Up! products.

Supplies

Circles #2 Die and Whisper White card stock for the body

Candy Cane Christmas Designer Fabric for the scarf

Brights Designer Buttons

Tangerine Tango card stock for the nose

Basic Black card stock for the eyes and mouth

Owl Builder punch to make the eyes and mouth

I cut out two each of the three circle and applied hot glue to the bottom circle, then the cord, more hot glue and the top circle,

leaving a space in between the circles

The girls are busy making Christmas ornaments using Stampin' Up! Window Sheets, stamps and coloring the images on the opposite side the image was stamped with Stazon Black Ink.

In the fore ground, you can see Olivia's dangling snowman.

We were trying to finish before Mom and Dad came to pick them up and forgot to take more photos of their work of art.

It was a fun afternoon. Grammy, me, enjoyed seeing how each of the girls used their imagination and how their projects came out different from each others.

Bag It and Tag It

Just a quick post on Bag It and Tag It

Here are some ideas for making your own Christmas tags and decorating store bought gift bags. I found these gift bags at a Dollar store.

Add caption

Add some Designer Series Paper, card stock, a little ink and some ribbon and you have designer gift bags. The ideas are endless. I started out by choosing the designer series paper I wanted and went from there. You can add as much or as little as you like. I'll be sharing more ideas for bags and tags later this week. Check back to see what I have come up with.

THE 9TH WEEK OF CHRISTMAS TURORITAL

IT'S DECEMBER 2ND WITH ONLY 23 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS DAY!

TODAY I HAVE A FUN PROJECT FOR YOU THAT YOU CAN MAKE AS GIFTS OR MAKE ONE TO KEEP FOR YOUR SELF

Glass Block Christmas decoration...I got my idea from Connie Babbert when she made these for Christmas a few years back. I added the lights to make it my own.

What you will need to make your own:

Glass Block: I bought mine from a local craft store $9.95

10-20- or 50 string of white lights with white cord; $3.95 for 50 light string. (I used 50 lights).

Stampin' Up! 3" x 3 5/8"De'cor Elements Jingle All the Way: #114707 $3.50

De'cor Elements Applicator # 114825 $1.95

Stampin' Up! Cherry Cobbler 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon:# 125056 $9.95

Glue and Glue Gun

Craft & Rubber Scissors #103179 $19.95

Remove label from glass block and wash and dry front side.

I placed my block so the white plastic cover was on the right side. This is so lights can be added: (Optional) Remove the white plastic plug from the block and cut a slit in the middle half way up. The light cord will fit nicely using this method.

This is how the Jingle all the way looks like out of the package. Directions are included

After turning the the De'cor Elements image over, using the applicator, gently rub the applicator over the image to transfer the image to the other side of the paper

Check as you go to make sure the image has transfered before placing on the glass block

Now, with the same motion, rub the applicator on the paper to transfer the image to the glass block

Gently remove the paper and check to make sure the image is completely transferring to the block. If not, place the paper over the image and rub with applicator

Finished block without lights

After adding the lights I wrapped Cherry Clobber 1 1/4" Striped Ribbon around the block like a package and used the glue gun to adhere to the block. I made a bow and glued it to the top of the block. View of glass block without the lights turned on

This is my favorite... it looks great during the day with the lights on but at night the decoration really is beautiful!

Old CD

I traced around the CD on Frostwood designer series paper, then cut 22 1/2" x 3" strips from a different pattern of the same designer series paper. I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue on everything for this project except adhering the seam binding; for that I used Sticky Strip. I decided to cut out a circle of cardboard (not in the photo.) I found it is much easier to glue the cone pieces to the cardboard and then adhere the designer series paper to the CD.

I applied the liquid glue along the edge of the cardboard and placed the cones..then added more glue and more cones until the cardboard border was covered.

I cut a circle from Letters to Santa designer series paper using the Clear Circle Die. I added another bow using Cherry Clobber seam binding and an Antique Brad. This ornament is 6 3/4" circumference.

These are great for your own tree or give some away as gifts.

CD ornaments

Today I have CD ornaments ideas for you.

If you have any old CD's lying around, don't throw them out. You can make homemade ornaments!

I started out making this ornament for my best friend, Kathy Steinman's 5 month old great granddaughter and from there I came up with more ideas for other CD ornaments

Good Morning! Today I have the 7th Week of Christmas

Two Sliver Glimmer Christmas tree ornaments

I had so much fun making this 2 1/2" ornament, I made a 1 1/2" one too.

Aren't they beautiful! The photo doesn't do the ornaments justice. They really sparkle.

Here's the Stampin' Up products you will need to make these beautiful ornaments

Using the Itty Bitty Punch (flower) I punched out Sliver Glimmer punches. I punched out more as I need them.

Straight Pins

1 wooden or bamboo skewer

2 1/2" and 1 1/2" Styrofoam balls

I started out by pinning a loop of 3/8" Taffeta ribbon on the 1 1/2" ball. Don't worry about the pins showing... the pins will be covered up by a bow at the top of the ornament. I used a foam brush to apply the liquid glue to the ornament.

I found it handy to have a bottle to set the ornament in as I punched out more silver flowers or got more glue out of the container. This keeps the ornament from rolling off the table.

I started near the top of the ornament and worked in layers around the ball.

As I contintued to cover the ball, using a Bamboo skewer was important so the glued pieces wouldn't be disturbed. This also cut down on time it took to apply the sliver flowers. Once in a while, I would press the flowers down to make sure they were adhering to the ball.

Again, here are the two Sliver Glimmer ornaments in the tree. On the larger (2 1/2") ball, I used 5/8" Whisper White Organza ribbon and made a loop and then a bow.

I pinned the bows to the ornament using straight pins. I held the bow open and pinned the loop to the ornament and adjusted the bow so the top loop covered the pin.

Week 6 of the 12 Weeks of Christmas

Welcome!

It's hard to believe that we are half way through the 12 Weeks of Christmas.

Here's what I have for you this week...

Party Favor Basket

Originally I saw this idea on Kathie McGuire blog. I've added and changed some aspects to make it my own.

You will need to make this basket:

(1) 12" x 12" piece of Cherry Clobber card stock# 124272 (1) 2 3/4 x 12 Letters to Santa designer series paper# 122349 (1) sheet of Shimmery White card stock # 101910, (2) 10" pieces of 1/2" Cherry Clobbler Seam Binding Ribbon # 120992, (4) Real Red Designer Series Brights brads #121006, Crop-A-Dile #108363, Bone Folder #120300, Paper Snips # 103579, Snowflake Punch # 119852, Doliy Triple Layer Punch #122465, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack # 118309, Simply Scored Scoring Tool # 122334, Mini Glue Dots #103683,Snowflake #2 Die #113460, Tasteful Trim Die # 120893.

On one side of the card stock, cut both of the scored lines to the intersection of the scored line above it. Turn the card stock 180 degrees and repeat on the opposite side.

For the handle you will need (2) 2 3/4" x 12" piece of designer series paper or card stock. I used the Big Shot Machine and the Tasteful Trim Die to make my handle. I folded the paper over and cut both of the handles together. Set aside.

Next, cut out (2) snowflakes using the Big Shot Machine and the #2 Snowflake die, set aside.

Next, on one edge of the card stock, take the outer square on both the left and right side and bring them to an angled point on top of the center square. This step helps to form the side of the basket. Attach along with the handle with an adhesive of your choice or use a brad.

I added a bow on each side of the handle using Cherry Clobber Seam Binding and attached the bows using Mini Glue Dots.

Here is a better view of how I overlapped the outer squares and tucked in the middle square and attached the handle and snowflakes with a brad.

Note: Make a small or medium favor basket by increasing or decreasing the card stock or designer series paper to 6" x 6" or 12" x 12". (divide the card stock or designer series paper into 9 equal squares.

I made Rafa (filler) using Real Red card stock and cutting very thin strips with my Paper Snips

Here's the card I made for Challenge 145 Thanksgiving

I really like the new stamp set Hand-Penned Holidays from the Holiday Mini. I combined it with another of my favorite sets, Day of Gratitude from the big catalog. Using Very Vanilla card stock and Spice Cake designer series paper, I colored in the image with Pool Party, More Mustard, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip Stampin' Markers. I cut out the image following the lines and allowed about 1/8" of the Very Vanilla card stock to show so the image would contrast with the designer series paper.

Designer Series Paper Christmas Tree

Christmas Tree Made with Frostwood Designer Series Paper

I thought I was pretty smart making my designer series paper Christmas tree until I saw a similar one in a craft magizine using ribbon and then another one on one of my stamping groups using desinger series paper. Here is my interpertation.

I started out with a 12" x 4" Styrofoam cone. I cut 1/2" x 6" strips of Frostwood Lodge Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Mini. ( I didn't count the number of loops I needed). Starting at the bottom of the cone I folded the paper strip in half and using a straight pin attached it to the cone. I made one layer after another layer until I reached about 2" from the top. I wrapped some of the same designer series paper around the top of the cone and applied low temperature glue. Then, I added the top row of paper loops, then glued a piece of 1/2" Cherry Cobbler Scallop Dots Ribbon at the very top, made a bow and glued the ribbon and bow with my glue gun.

Welcome to the 6th Week of Christmas

This week I have another exciting project for you

A Hershey's Nugget Tin

Inside the tin. It will hold 12 nuggets

Cut out( 3) strips 1" x 12 " designer series paper from Holiday Bouquet. Cut each of the 12" strips into (4) 3" strips.

Punched out (1) 1 3/4" Real Red Scallop Punch Circle, make a small Red Red Bow and make a "lollie" from the same designer series paper. To see my Lollies Tutorial click here

GHOST FAMILY

These ghost luminaries are so simpe and fast to make. I think I will make some more today and line the driveway with them so tonight the little Trick or Treaters will be able to walk safely to our porch.

This is how they look in the day light...not very impressive but as you can see with the battery operated candle (DO NOT USE REGULAR CANDLE) and when it's dark they take on an entirely different look.

WELCOME TO WEEK 5 OF THE 12 WEEKS OF CHRISTMAS

5TH WEEK OF THE 12TH WEEKS OF CHRISTMAS!

This week I'm featuring gift tags. I have four different tags using a variety of products and techniques. I hope you like them and will give my ideas a try.

From let to right. Snow Much Fun, Sweet Season, Merry Winter and Merry Christmas tags.

Snow Much Fun Tag

After I assembled the tag I used Sticky Strip to adhere the Silver Glimmer Paper to the Whisper White card stock and colored in the snowman with Stampin' Markers; Tempting Turquoise, Cherry Clobber, Garden Green and Peach Parfait.

After adhering the snowman to the Bashful Blue tag I used Crystal Effects and added Mica Flakes to look like snow

Sweet Season Tag

When punching out the Snowflake I turned the Silver Glimmer paper upside down so I could see where I was punching. It made a cleaner cut that way and it saves on paper when I know just where to place the punch. I used the Ticket Corner Punch on the corners of the Whisper White card stock

Underneath the snowflake punch is a stamp from the Sweet Season Stamp set. I stamped in Real Red Ink and punch it out using the Scalloped Circle Punch. This picture doesn't do the Silver Glimmer paper justice; the photo below shows off the sparkle better

Merry Winter Tag

Using the 1 3/4" Circle Punch I punched out the center of the circle die cut. I added 8 hearts from the Owl Builder punch and made a bow using 1/8" Real Red Taffeta Ribbon and attached to the outside of the cup using SNAIL Adhesive

Using a circle Treat cup I stamped the phrase on Whisper White card stock using Marina Mist ink and cut the circle a little bigger than the inside edge of the Circle Treat cup

I added some Mica Flakes. Removed the adhesive liner and attached the cup to the tag

Merry Christmas Tag

After the Top Note was embossed, I used Crumb Cake Stampin' Ink and a Sponge Dauber and went over the entire top note to give it a vintage look. I stamped Merry Christmas in Cherry Cobbler ink on Whisper White card stock and colored the edges with Cherry Cobbler ink and a Sponge Dauber. I used Stampin' Dimensionals to attached the Merry Christmas banner to the top note. For the mittens, I tied the cord to make it shorter and cut off the excess. I used my glue gun to attached the mittens to the top note. Crumb Cake Seam Binding was crumpled up and then tied to the top note after punching a hole with the

Crop-a-Dile punch.

PATCHWORK HALLOWEEN CARD

HALLOWEEN'S ALMOST HERE

I had the 1" square punch out and Frightful Sight Designer Series Paper and an idea clicked.
I punch out 20 -1" squares of DSP from Frightful Sight Designer Series Paper. They fit perfectly on a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card.

All I did was punch out 20- 1" squares for each card. I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the card stock and placed each square on the glue stop. I didn't glue the entire card front just the spots where the 1" square would be. One I punched out all the squares and sorted them out, it didn't take long to whip out 6 cards. I really like the way they turned out.

Spice Cake and Autumn Splendor

Spice Cake and Autumn Splendor Picture Frame

I found some unused picture frames in my crafting closet and when I saw this one I knew what I wanted t do with it. The color of the frame is perfect to use Spice Cake Designer Series Paper as a background. I removed the glass, added form core as the base. The frame opening is 4 3/4" x 8 1/2". The frame itself is 8 1/2" x 10 1/2".

1. Applied DSP to form core, added 3/4" x 8 1/2" strips of DSP; Crochet Trim

2. Cut out Scallop Circle and embossed using the Big Shot; attaching it to the DSP

3. Stamped leaves, cut them out and curled them up using a Bone Folder

4. Made Lollie & attached Lollie to DSP

6. Attached leaves and bow

7. Attached 3 Basic Pearls on lower right side of paper

I used Autumn Splendor stamp set to compliment the Spice Cake designer series paper. I attached 4 strips of different patterns of Spice Cake designer series paper, added 5/8" Victoria Crochet Trim across the entire paper and made a bow. Using Wild Wasabi card stock I cut and embossed a Scallop Circle Die using the Big Shot and Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. After attaching the Scallop Circle to the paper and Crochet Trim I added the Lollie and leaves. To tie in the look of the Basic Pearl on the Lollie, I added 3 Basic pearls at the bottom on the right.

I stamped the leaves on Very Vanilla card stock using Soft Suede, Pool Party, Pear Pizzaz, and More Mustard Stampin' Pads. I cut them out using Paper Snips, curled them up using the Bone Folder and used Stampin' Dimensionals to attach them to the designer series paper. Using another sheet from Spice Cake designer series paper I made a Lollie, added two punch outs, one Basic Pearl using Pool Party card stock and the Boho Punch. I used Sticky Strip to attach DSP, Scallop Circle, and Crocheted Trim.

This is a nice picture to have out all Fall and especially at Thanksgiving time.

WEEK 4 OF THE 12 WEEKS OF CHRISTMAS

WELCOME TO THE 4TH WEEK OF THE 12 WEEKS OF CHRISTMAS!

We lost power yesterday when the high winds knocked a tree down on a main power line. I apologize for the lateness of this post.

AS I MENTIONED ON THURSDAY, I'M SO EXCITED TO BRING YOU THIS TUTORIAL. YOU WILL FIND ALL THE INFORMATION YOU WILL NEED TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT FOR YOURSELF OR GIVE AS A GIFT.

CLEAR-MOUNT STAMP CASE PORTFOLIO

TO GET STARTED YOU WILL NEED

1- 5" x 7" tablet...trimmed to 4 1/2" x 6"

1- 12" x 12"piece of Designer Series paper pieces cut to (2-3)

4 7/8" x 7"

1- tablet topper cut to 4 1/2" x 2" score topper at 1 1/4" & 1"

I found 5" x 7" tablets at local Office store and had them trimmed to 4 1/2" x 6". If you ask they will trim the tables for a small fee. I paid $1.09 to have 8 tablets trimmed. The total cost for the tablets and the trimming came to $10.04 plus tax. That's about $1.30 per tablet.

Step 1

I cut 3 pieces because I wanted the side you see above to show on the inside of the case on the left side. On the right side I used only 1 piece of designer series paper because the tablet will cover most of the paper. You will see more on this in additional photos. When you open the case you will see a plastic sheet that is attached. I turned the case upside down and slipped the Designer Series Paper in between the plastic sheet and the case itself. I apply some SNAIL Adhesive on the edges to keep the paper from moving.

After attaching the Designer Series Paper to both sides of the case I prepared the tablet topper and tablet.

Step 2

The topper will cover the top of the tablet and give the the tablet a finished look.

The red strips are Sticky Strips which is a very strong adhesive that will hold just about anything in place. I attached two strips to the top of the tables to cover any writing.

Step 3

At the top left is a Scallop Envelope cut using the Big Shot using Pool Party card stock. This will be attached to the inside of the case to hold stamps, coupons, etc. I used my bone folder to make crisp creases and hold it together with Sticky Strip.

Making The Flower

Step 4

I cut a number of flowers from the Flower Fold Die using the big Shot machine and Spice Cake Designer Series Paper.

That should be "I cut a thin strip", not a think strip." I was having problem using my program.

Step 5

Putting it all together

After attaching the Designer Series Paper and the tablet, I attached the calendar to a 2 1/2" x 2" piece of Pool Party card stock. I added a 2012 calendar in the Scallop Envelope.

I purchase my calendars at Vippies online. They have a wide variety of size of calendars and size of print. They are reasonable and I have had good service from them.

I started making Portfolios after I saw the idea on Patty Bennett Blog and added some features of my own. It's a nice size to carry in your purse or use it at the office or at home. I carry one in my purse. On a previous post, I showed one I made my husband to hold his receipts in his truck....No flower for him!

Cellophane Bag Halloween Treats

Halloween treats for Preschool

As I have mentioned before, our daughter, Pam is a preschool teacher and this year she has 30 students ages 3 and 4. We put our heads together to find a Halloween treat that would be safe for them. We didn't want anything round that they could choke on so we deceided on Candy Corn.

Using Stampin' Up! 1" x 8" Cellophane Bags helped to make this Halloween treat safe for the little ones

I used a variety of stamps, card stock

I added Stampin' Up! Dazzling Details to add a little dazzle to the stamped images

I really like how the Cello bags turned out.

I started out using the stamp set Howl-e-ween Creeps #123829 Clear set from the Holiday Mini and added images from the stamp set, Wicked Cool # 120600 Clear Set. I colored in the images using Stampin' Up! Write Markers #119806.

First I stamped the images on Whisper White card stock and punched them out using 2 3/8" Scallop Circle # 118874. I punched out 30- 2 3/8" Scallop Circles in Basic Black #121045, Real Red #100052, Old Olive #100079 card stock to use for the back of the topper.

Using Sticky Strip # 104294 I attached two pieces to the back of the topper and placed the Cellophane bag # 124134 for the Holiday Mini on the Sticky Strip. I placed the stamp image on top and pressed down. I used retired Tinsel Trim to tie a bow and secure the topper. I used the Crop-a-dial #10836 to punch the holes for the Tinsel. The last step was to added Dazzling Details # 124117 to add sparkle to my project.

Decorated for Christmas Button Container

I decorated a Button Container in a Christmas theme

Isn't it cute?

I love it! You can added little things to give as a gift or keep it for yourself.
I used Holly Berry Bouquet Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Mini, 1 3/4" Scallop Circle, Snowflake and Boho Blossom punches. Basic Rhinestone Jewels, and 5/8" Real Red Satin Ribbon.

I used a Jumbo Brad in Silver for the center of the ribbon and added (10) Rhinestones on the top. I thought the sides needed something so I added (4) Boho flowers using 3 layers for each flower and then added a Rhinestone in the center. I scrunched up the little flowers and then straightened them out before adding the Rhinestone. The container needed another color, so I used the Snowflake punch and punched out (3) snowflakes in Old Olive. To make the bow, I tied the bow, then opened the silver brad up as far as I could and placed the bow in the center of the brad and closed it behind the bow. I used a glue gun to attach the bow to the top of the container. I punched (2) 1 3/4" Scallop Circles from Real Red card stock for the inside bottom of the container and for the first layer on the top of the container. I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere them to the container.

Something Different for Saturday

I received a Stampin' Up! order yesterday and I couldn't wait to start playing with one of the products! It's completely different than any thing Stampin' Up! has offered.

This is Stamp Set Sweet Pressed Cookie Set; Pumpkin Face, Snowflake or Heart Shape

The set come with a really nice handle and you choose which shape you want

I used the Sugar Cookie recipe and tinted the dough orange with food coloring. After the cookies cooled I hand decorated them using black food coloring, water, and black sugar I made using the same black food coloring. I have special brushes I use for baking and decorating. I just dipped the brush in the black water and painted the eyes, nose and mouth. I used a spoon and shook the black sugar over the cookie. Aren't they cute?


I made this batch first and colored the dough and then rolled the cookie balls in orange colored sugar. These so cute too! The Sweet Pressed Cookie set comes with two recipes; Sugared Shortbread and Sugar Cookies. I used the Sugar Cookie recipe...so yummy!

Here's the one I used

SUGAR COOKIES
1 cup salted butter, softened to room temperature
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 egg yolks
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt2 1/8 cups flour

Preheat over to 350 degrees. Cream butter and sugar; beat until fluffy. Add egg yolks one at a time and mix well. Add vanilla, salt and flour and mix well. Dough should be stiff and not sticky; if dough is sticky, add more flour. Roll into 1 1/2" balls. Place 2 1/2" apart on an ungreased cookie sheet and press with Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamp. Bake 16-18 minutes or until bottom of cookie is lightly browned (edges may be slightly brown, but the top should not brown.
Makes approximately 16 cookies

WEEK 3 IN THE 12 WEEKS OF CHRISTMAS

WELCOME TO WEEK 3 OF THE 12 WEEKS OF CHRISTMAS!

Today I'm going to show you how to make a Santa Boot treat holder using the Big Shot and the new Holiday Stocking Bigz Die from the Holiday Mini. This idea isn't my original idea, I have seen many ideas on the Internet. This is my interpretation.

This is what the card stock looks like after running it through the Big Shot using the Holiday Stocking Biz Die

You will need to cut out 2 stockings. I have used the Petals- a- Plenty Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

This embossing folder looks like Poinsettias

You will need to cut out 2 stocking tops in Whisper White. They will be covered in White Felt.

I wanted to use white felt on the top, toe and heel of the stocking so I ran Whisper White through the Holiday Stocking die 2 times and then ran white felt through the Holiday Stocking and Big Shot 2 times.

I used Sticky Strip for this treat holder. Sticky Strip is made to hold 3-D projects together and it is Acid Free

This is the left side of the stocking

On top of the red stockings I've placed the #2 Box Bigz Die cut out in Whisper White card stock

I cut off the top flap of the box and added Sticky Strip to both sides to attach it to the inside of the stocking

This is the front view after the #2 box is attached

You can fill the #2 box with candy right out of the bag but I wanted to add a little special touch and wrapped each miniature candy bar in Holly Berry Bouquet Specialty designer series paper from the Holiday Mini. I cut 2- 1 1/2" x 12" strips of paper and cut them 3" long. Because our designer series paper is double-sided it makes it nice to have a variety of colors for wrappers

Using the Sticky Strip again, I attached a piece to one end of the paper and wrapped it around the candy bar then using another piece of Sticky Strip I attached the other end on the back of the candy bar

This is the inside of box #2 before I added the candy bars. You can see #2 Box is pretty roomy for your goodies

You can see they fit very nicely

I added some holly leave and berries using the Stocking Accents Die from the Holiday Mini

It's a Punch.?..It's a flower?...It's a Christmas Tree

I know I sound a little crazy...but I had so much fun designing and making today's project! Yes it's a punch, yes it's a flower, and yes it's a Christmas tree. It's all three.

I found another $3 picture frame at the Dollar Store and gave it two coats of Christmas Red Acrylic Paint. I've been on a kick of making Christmas tree cards so I thought why not make a Christmas tree picture?

Here you can see the different colors of green I used. I punched, using the Boho punch dozens and dozens of punches in Wild Wasabi and Old Olive card stock and Old Olive designer series paper from the Brights Collection Paper Stacks.

Each of the little "flowers" is made with the largest punch out of the Boho Punches. I used three layers for each "flower" to make sure the tree looked full. After punching away, I scrunched each punch out and sprayed with water and carefully opened the punches up. I layered them together and made a hole in the center using the Paper Piercing tool and adding a gold brad. Finially, I worked with "flowers" until it looked like I wanted them to. I let them dry for several hours before adhering them to card stock.

I cut piece of Soft Suede for the tree trunk and glued it to Very Vanilla card stock, I drew a triangle on the card stock with a pencil then filled in the entire space.

Adding the gold brads holds the "flowers" together and it looks like the tree has twinkle lights.

CCMC-HOL 3 Saturdy Special Card Challenge

This is my 2nd card for Saturday Special Card Challenge one of a kind cards, Pines & Poinsettias. When I think of a Christmas card I automatically think of green, red and white that's why I love this card so much. Christmas for me also means the birth of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I incorporated "Let Earth Receive her King" from the set, "The Sounding Joy"; both stamp set from the Holiday Mini.

I started out with Real Red as my card base. I added the next layer using a quarter sheet of Whisper White card stock and ran it through the Big Shot using the Snow Burst impressions folder from the Holiday Mini.
I ran another quarter piece of Whisper White card stock through the Big Shot using my favorite die, the Top Note. Using Real Red Stampin' Marker I colored the flowers in red and colored the leaves in Garden Green. Next I stamped the sentiment using Garden Green Stampin' Pad. I colored the little flowers in with Daffodil Delight Marker. I added three Basic Pearls in the center of the poinsettia. To tie everything together, I added 5/8" piece of Real Red Satin Ribbon to the embossed piece of Whisper White card stock then attached the Top Note with Stampin' Dimensioials.

Stampin' Up! Primitive Art Using wooden stamp blocks

I was looking through my retired stamps and wheels and came across the Jumbo Wheel named Neighborhood. I thought I would try stamping on some of my wooden blocks I had left over from converting my wood stamps to clear mount. First I removed the rubber from the wheel, then I inked one or two houses depending on the size of the block.

I stamped the images in Basic Black Stampin' Pad Ink, let dry and then colored in the images with Stampin' Write Markers. After the color was dry I used a Sponge Dauber and More Mustard ink pad and "antiqued" the entire block. The ink soaks into the wood so you don't have to seal the blocks.

A good way to use your extra wooden blocks!

CCMC-HOL # Saturday Special Card Challenge

Here is my card for Create with Connie & Mary Saturday Special Card Challenge. The Challenge was to make one of a kind Christmas card. I decided to make a circle punch card using as many Stampin' Up! punches that would fit appropriately on the tree.

I wanted to make a sophisticated card. I immediately thought of Mocha Morning Speciality designer series paper and Brushed Gold card stock.

I chose Crumb Cake card stock for the base of the card. The second layer I chose Whisper White card stock. Using the Big Shot I ran it though the new textured Impressions Embossing folder from the Holiday Mini catalog. The rest was really easy. I punched a variety of sizes of circles from a variety of the Mocha Morning Specialty paper and Brushed Gold card stock and attached them to the second layer using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I used the Lace Ribbon Border punch for the trunk of the Christmas tree. I drew a triangle on the Whisper White card stock after running it through the embossing folder. I began layering the circles being sure to use a variety of sizes and colors. I added punches from the Boho Blossom punch to give the tree some interest. I added Basic Rhinestones and sprayed the entire card with Gold Glow Smooch Spritz.

Stamping' Up! Late Night Stampers Pier 1 Witchy Poo Inspiration & Challenge #1

This Challenge was so much fun! I decided to make 2 Halloween projects. A Halloween tree for our daughter's Preschool classroom and a Button Container dressed up for Halloween!

I didn't have a store bought tree so my husband cut some branches off one of our bushes and I trimmed it to fit what I needed.
I took inside and outside photos. I attempted to give several different angles so you can see all the decorations. Do you see the Witchy Poo's feet? If not on this photo...keep looking there are there. I had so much fun making the tree. Since the tree is for our daughter's Preschool classroom, I stamped images I thought the little ones would enjoy.

On the left and on the right are 3 hanging boxes...do you know how I made them?

Another view of the tree. Using the Big Shot, I cut out lots of leaves in Basic Black using the Leaves # 2 die, I used a Stampin' Sponge and rubbed gold ink over the entire leaf.

Another close up view. I see a Witchy Poo's hat, do you? There are 3 hanging boxes again. How did I make them?

This is a good photo of the leaves...Don't they look spooky?!

Can you see the three hanging boxes on the left side? Do you know what they are? Their conception happened my accident. That happens a lot in the stamping world. A drum roll...

I made them out of two Petal Card Double Punch. After punching out two, I folded the flaps and nestled one inside the other and use a glue gun to secure them together. I laid the boxes on my stamping table and with the glue gun ran a glue strip down the middle of each box. I laid a piece of the white Baker's Twine on top of the hot glue. So the twine wouldn't show on the back side, I punched another Petal Card piece of designer series paper that matched each box, folded it flat and using the glue gun, attached it to the backside of each box.

I used all Stampin' Up! products except the branches and glue gun liquid glue. I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue for the decorations. Three stamp sets: Wicked Cool...Batty for You and Howl-o-ween Creeps.

I made these treat containers for our older granddaughter's for Halloween

Instead of candy I'm giving them each some cash! At ages 14, 16 and 17..they need so many things that they can't live without. Just kidding...they are good girls...it just seems that they can always use more gas money. I think they are going to like this better than candy.

Welcome to Week 2 of the 12 Weeks of Christmas!
Blogger was having trouble most of the day with uploading photos but now it's up and running. Sorry the post is late.

Today I have another Christmas card to share with you.

When I saw this stamp set in the 2011-2012 Catalog & Idea Book, I knew it wanted to make my Christmas cards using this set. I love the little bird and with the holly, it just says Christmas.

There are 3 other stamps in the set. I really like the idea of having a tag included.

I started out with a piece of Whisper White card stock 8 1/2' x 11" and cut it to 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" and folded it using the bone folder. The other half of the piece of Whisper White, I cut to 5 1/4" x 4" and set aside. Another 1/4 sheet of card stock I ran through the Big Shot using the Top Note die.

This is the new Textured Impressions Embossing folder from the Holiday Mini, Snow Burst.

This is where the 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock comes in. I ran it through the Big Shot using the Snow burst folder. This is the second layer to my card.

After stamping the image in Basic Black, I used 3 Collections of Water Color Wonder Crayons; Brights, Regals, and Neutral.Then I used a Blending Pen. This makes the colors pop.

Before I adhered the Snow Burst piece of card stock to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue I attached a 6" piece of 5/8" Organza Whisper White Ribbon then attached it to the card stock I ran through the Snow Burst embossing folder.Lastly, I applied 4 Stampin' Dimensionals one to each corner of the Top Note piece and attached it over the ribbon.

Here is the finished card again. Adding the embossed 2nd layer and Organza Ribbon really makes the difference in the end result of this card. It give the overall look the "wow" factor!

FANCY FLOWER BOX CRAFT TABLE ORGANIZER

I've seen this idea on the Internet several times but I don't know who had the original idea. Here's my own slant on the organizer.

I made it for my sister in-law Phyllis for her birthday in September.

Using the Big Shot and 12" x 12" card stock, I cut out (6) Fancy Favor boxes. TIP:You can get (2) Fancy Favor Boxes out of (1) sheet of 12' x 12" card stock. I used Sticky Tape to attach them together. I started on one side attaching three boxes together and then added the fourth and so on. When you finish the organizer should look like this.

Bottom view. I attached with Sticky Strip to a piece of card board that come with the Designer Series Paper to add stability.

Top View. In addition, I reinforced the inside of each box with some of the same cardboard as I used for the bottom.

Here's the finished project again.

From left to right: I made (3) lollies (medallions), attaching them with Stampin' Dimenisionals. Using the Big Shot I cut the leaves using the Leaves #2 die and attached them the same way as the lollies. TIP: After cutting out the leaves, I crunched them together into a ball and straightened them out. This helps them to look more like real leaves and give the organizer more of a 3-D look. Lastly, I made a bow using 1 1/4" Pumpkin Pie Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and attached it with my glue gun. I added Basic Pearls to the center of the lollies.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

For this project use only card stock. Designer Series Paper wouldn't be sturdy enough... Use a Crease pad instead of a Cutting Pad when using desinger series paper to cut out a Fancy Favor Box. Otherwise, you will cut through the seams of the designer paper.
Uses for the organizer
Although I made this organizer for crafting you can use it for many other things. It's sturdy enough to hold items on you computer desk like paper clips, pens and pencils, tape, sissors, etc. This organizer is much prettier than the plain old black ones you can buy in the store. I have a (4) section one in my bedroom. It holds my glasses at night, my watch and rings, a pen and a small tablet so I can write down ideas I have for projects. It seems like I always get ideas just before I go to sleep. If I don't write the idea down I can't get to sleep in fear I won't remember it in the morning. That's a stamper for you!

How to build your sandwich for the Bigz L Dies:
1) Extended Cuting Pad (or) Crease Pad
2) Material
3) Die
4) Extended Cuting Pad
5) When using the Crease Pad cut only one layer at a time

Craft Project Central Sketch Challenge #4

Creating Pretty Cards-Sketch Challenge #4

Today we are getting our Halloween decorations up inside and outside. This card has put me in the mood for Fall and Halloween.

Halloween is my favorite holiday. Fall is my favorite season. The cool crisp air, leaves of all colors falling, the smell of leaves burning, hay rides, pumpkins and the Trick or Treater's!

There is always a few little ones dressed as ghosts for Halloween.
They are so cute, not scary at all. Just like the little ghost on my card.

I followed the basic sketch but added the sentiment at the top of my card using "Spooky" from Wicked Cool set. I used my Cherry Clobber Stampin' Write for the ghost because I didn't want the phrase that circled the ghost on this card.

Now I'm ready to start decorating the house!

Wreath and Lollie Tutorial

Happy Friday!

I had many requests for a tutorial on how to make a wreath like my Fall wreath. There were questions about how big is the wreath, the lollies, how many I used, the size of lollies, placement of lollies, etc. I hope this tutorial will answer your questions and encourage you to give it a try.

I started out drawing around the outside of a 12" wire wreath.

Use a 12" x 12" sheet of card stock.

Trace the inside and cut out.

Inside the second circle I cut a "X" and cut away the card stock.

This is the back side of my completed, I didn't have another wreath but I think you can get the idea. Turn the wreath on the other side and using a glue gun, glue the card stock to the wire frame and set aside.

I used 3 different sizes of paper strips for my wreath. 1: x 12"

1 1/4" x 12" and 1 1/2" x 12".

Using the new Simply Scored Tool from the HolidayMini, I scored each strip 1/4" all the way across.

You can see the 1/4" score marks here.

Next, using an accordion fold...fold the entire strip. When finished folding this is what your strip should look like.

Using Sticky Strip, attach one piece on each end. Notice the end fold is facing up.

This end is facing down.

Bring the two ends together, making sure one end fold is up and the other fold is down. This way it makes a smooth fold.

Turn the lollie so it looks like this. Decide which side you want to face up. Here I'm holding the lollie and I have placed glue all around the opening on the outside of the hole using the glue gun. Be careful not to get any glue on your fingers.

In the beginning, I used a lid and placed the lollie inside after turning it inside out. This kept the lollie in place so I could use the glue gun. It works really well and helps to keep your fingers from getting burned by the hot glue.

Have a circle already punched and place over the glue and hold until the glue cools.This is the bottom so the color of the circle isn't as important. I punch out several circles to have ready when I'm making a lot of lollies.

This is the front of the lollie that will be decorated. I used the glue gun to apply glue to the circle here too. It gives the lollie stability.

Here are three competed lollies like the sizes I used for my wreath. The lollie on the left started out as 1" x 12" and finished is 2 3/4".
The middle lollie started out as 1 1/4" x 12" and finished is 2 1/2".
The lollie on the right started out as 1 1/2" x 12" and is 3 1/4" finished.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

1. I used (22) lollies for my 12" wreath. I stared at the left hand side of the wreath, using a glue gun and glued my lollies until I had the entire wire covered.

2. If the wreath looked uneven, I added another lollie beside one or on top of another lollie. I did this until I felt it looked balanced.

3. I used a variety of designer series paper and card stock.

4. I made my lollies up before hand choosing the colors I thought would compliment each other.

5. I left a small space open on the left side for my ribbon. I used (retired) 1 1/4" Stripped Grosgrain Pumpkin Pie because I didn't have any other color that looked good with my wreath.

6. Decorate as desired. I used a variety of different embellishments to give the wreath interest and add to it's appeal.
7. If you hold the lollie tight while using the glue gun, the circle will be smaller in circumference. If you want a larger circle let the circle open a little bit.

Buttons: Antique Brads, 5/8" Neutral Brads

Adhesive: Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Sticky Strip

Punches: Boho Blossoms, Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer, 1" Circle, 1 1/4" circle and 1 3/4" Scallop Circle.

Ribbon: 1 1/4" Stripped Grosgrain Ribbon

WEEK ONE OF 12 WEEKS OF CHRISTMAS CARDS, PROJECTS AND TAGS!

WELCOME TO WEEK 1 OF THE 12 WEEKS OF CHRISTMAS!

The project this week is a Christmas card using Christmas Lodge Stamp set from the Holiday Mini and Mocha Morning Specialty designer series paper from the Big Catalog.

This is my one of my favorite set from the Holiday Mini!

I'm using the Clear Mount style. I've learned to really like the clear mount sets. Besides being easy to use they save a lot of space when storing. The set has 6 stamps and I love the rustic look.

I started out cutting the Scallop Oval using the Big Shot. There are two pieces. Today I used just the inside oval and saved the other one for another project.

I used Whisper White Card Stock for the oval and for the base of my card. The card base measures 5 1/2" x 11". After folding in half I chose the designer series paper and cut it 4 " x 5 1/4" for a little border all around the card.

I especially like the Crumb Cake and Whisper White in this sheet because it goes well with the Whisper White base and oval and makes the card "pop".


Before attaching the designer series paper to the card, I wrapped 18" of Cherry Clobber seam binding around the paper and tied a knot on the right hand side. I frayed the ends of the seam binding by pulling on the ends. This adds a lot of interest to the over all look of the card.

I added another piece of seam binding to the first knot and frayed the ends.

Next is stamping the lodge image on the oval. I used Cherry Clobber Classic Ink and left the image just as it was. Some times less is more.

I sponged the edge using Cherry Clobber ink and a Sponge Dauber. This makes the oval stand out from the background.

To give the oval a 3-D effect, I used Stampin' Dimensionals.

I added the Happy Holidays sentiment on the inside.

One more look at the finished card. If you have many Christmas cards to send out, this card would be great. I have so many sets I "love" that I usually make more than one theme of Christmas cards.

The first few weeks will we card ideas so you will have time to give my ideas a try to use this Christmas Season. Projects and tags will come later, unless I have a project that takes some time and I will post it in plenty of time for you to make it for Christmas. Ink: Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzaz, Garden Green, Basic Black, Marina Mist and Elegant Eggplant.
Adhesive: Stampin' Dimensionals
Non Stampin' Up: Wooden toothpicks, glue and glue gun.

I used the 2/3/8" Scallop Circle, 1 3/4" Scallop Circle, and the 1" Circle punches. The banner came from the Petal Cone Die.I stamped all the images from the Batty for You set on Very Vanilla card stock in different colored ink. I punched out the image using the 1" Circle punch. This removed the phrase that is around the image. I stamped Happy Halloween on the banners and cut the end down using Paper Snips. Using a glue gun, I applied the glue all over one end of the toothpick and attached it to one of the 2 3/8" Scalloped Punches. Before the glue set, I layered the 1 3/4" Scallop Punch out over the top of the toothpick. Using Stampin' Dimensionals I placed the stamped image at the bottom of the 1 3/4: Scallop circle. To help the banner to bend, I ran the banner up and down vertically on the edge of the table, this gave the raised look in the middle of the banner. Using one Stampin' Dimensionals cut in half, I placed each half on either side of the stamped "Happy Halloween" on the back of the banner and placed it on the 2 3/8" Scallop Punch.
That's it! They are fun to make. I can just see little ones taking cupcakes to school for their Halloween party with all these little creatures on top.

Good Morning.. Today I'm sharing another CD Album. I used a combination of retired and current Stampin' Up! products. Tip: Save any left over paper, etc. You never know when you will be able to use it to complete a project. I have a special hanging file where I store my "extras". After completing a project or card, I add the extras to a folder and mark it by the project name.

For the lack of a a better name...here is the Pull Tag Card. I wish I could take credit for the design, but I have to give credit to one of my sister in-laws Phyllis Cooper. Last Halloween, Phyllis sent me a card using this design. It's fun to make and has a "big wow factor" when non stampers see it for the first time.
